Wireline or slickline. The job is not finished until the data is in your hands.
A device set in the wellbore to secure memory pressure gauges below it. In cased hole, the hanger sets against the casing. Once a well is tubed up, there is usually a nipple profile that will accept lock mandrel instead. Either way, the gauges sit where you need them, record for the duration, and come out when we pull them.
Because production during flowback is worth more than convenience. More operators are flowing freshly fractured wells on casing and watching the drawdown before they tube up, and a memory gauge hung on a cased hole hanger is how they see it. Flowing through 5.5 inch casing means far more volume than the same well will move through tubing. Once the tubing is in, the flow area is restricted and the early rate is gone. The measurement has to happen in the window when the well is still open, which means the hanger job has to be right the first time.
Both. On electric line the hanger is typically set with a wireline pressure setting assembly, and on slickline with an e-setting tool. We are agnostic about which. The setting method is the wireline company's business. Ours is the gauge on the end of it and the data that comes back.
Yes. We send our own people to the location to make the hanger job run smoothly, and we return to pull the string and download the data. Memory data has one chance to be recovered, and having someone on location who knows the hanger, the gauge, and the download software is how that chance does not get wasted.
Yes. We maintain a hanger rental fleet and we rebuild and redress it in house. Rented hardware fails when nobody owns its maintenance, so we own ours.
We pull the gauges, download them, and deliver the data. That is the point of the entire job. Every other step, the hanger, the setting tool, the wireline unit, exists to put a recording gauge in the right place and get it back.
