Electronics Technician

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for the manufacturing and repair of DataCan tools and systems. This includes reading drawings and manufacturing instructions to complete builds, soldering, in-process and final Quality Control verification. Repairs include troubleshooting issues, using measuring and diagnostic equipment, completing repairs and repair reports.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Manufacturing:

·         Reading drawings and manufacturing instructions to complete builds

·         Soldering and testing surface mount electronics

·         Ability to use measuring and diagnostic equipment

·         In process and final Quality Control of tools

·         Picking jobs as required

·         Completion of assigned jobs and related QC verification tasks

·         Preparing pressure gauges for calibration


Repairs:

·         Troubleshooting of company and customer equipment

·         Ability to use measuring and diagnostic equipment

·         Completion of Repair Reports and repair records in DBA

·         Completion of assigned jobs and related QC verification tasks

·         Maintain accurate records

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

·         Electronics Technician Diploma and a minimum of 1 year experience

 

Competencies:

·         Working knowledge of computer programs, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

·         Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and use simple math

·         Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week

Position Overview: 

This full-time position is responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving. This includes, but is not limited to; preparation of all shipping documents, preparing and packaging orders for shipment, customer notification and delivery tracking. Receiving duties include, physically receiving packages, receipt verification, incoming inspection and quality control of parts, and inventory control. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Shipping: 

Prepare and maintain all of shipping and customs documentation

Prepare and package of regular and dangerous goods shipments, in compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements

Ship and track customer orders; locally and internationally

Perform quality control verification of outgoing equipment

Select carriers, request shipping quotes and book pickups

Notify customers of order shipping

Pick sales orders as assigned

Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

May operate forklift to load shipments as required

Receiving:

Receive incoming shipments, note discrepancies

Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and verify physical items and paperwork against Purchase Order (quantity, quality, etc.)

Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking

Perform incoming inspection and quality control testing and maintain records as required

Sort and distribute incoming shipments (i.e. Requestor, inventory location, etc.) 

Comply with company ISO9001:2015 certified Quality Program for process and product requirements

Other:

Participation in regular inventory counts, maintenance of inventory locations 

Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations

Housekeeping, organization and maintenance of warehouse and shipping area 


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent

One to three months related experience and\ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Forklift ticket would be an asset

Purchasing Assistant

Position Overview: 

Reporting to the Production Manager, working closely with the Purchaser, this position is directly responsible for supporting purchasing activities at DataCan. This includes coordinating the movement of purchased materials from suppliers and addressing any related issues. The Purchasing Assistant is also responsible for maintaining and creating new relationships with suppliers and negotiation of prices and cost-saving measures. Data entry, report generation and analysis of the data is an ongoing duty. Other tasks include resolving issues pertaining to material defects, invoice discrepancies and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Purchasing

Assist with purchasing activities including; obtaining quotes, placing and monitoring orders, vendor relations, scheduling shipments, vendor returns and disputes, etc.

Follow up all pending orders and communicate delays or variances to the appropriate parties

Liaise with other departments particularly accounting, manufacturing and Senior Management

Compare receipts against purchase orders to verify receipt of items ordered

Comply with DataCan’s purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices

Investigate and resolve product discrepancies and non-conformances

Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as needed

Maintain specified inventory levels as required 

Receive incoming orders and perform quality control testing as required

Prepare jobs for manufacturing and complete jobs as required

Inventory Control

Perform regular physical inventory counts 

Ensure parts and materials are properly stored and recorded

Maintain an accurate list of current assets

Identify areas for improvement and execute improvement plans 

Assist in investigating inventory and asset discrepancies
