Permanent Monitoring Installation

Installation is where a permanent gauge earns its life.

Permanent Monitoring Installation
Twelve piezo-resistive gauges on a single line, cemented behind casing.
We own gauge performance from design through deployment.

On most jobs that means our crew on your location. On the rest, it means our procedures, our training, and our people on the phone with yours.

  • Gauge, carrier, and protector
  • TEC spooled and clamped
  • Wellhead exit and terminations
  • Multi-gauge single-line systems
  • Installed by us or supported for you

Our crews install the gauge, carrier, and protectors, spool and clamp tubing encapsulated cable (TEC), install the wellhead exit, terminate the surface connections, and commission the surface box before we leave location. We install behind casing, on tubing, and suspended in new completions and on workovers, in single-gauge and multi-gauge configurations.

Because the gauge and the job were designed together. The crew spooling the cable builds the equipment on the end of it, which means the person on your location can answer a question about the tool instead of relaying it.

Yes. Many of our customers do, and we support them the same way we support our own crews, with installation procedures, onsite training, commissioning support, and a phone number that reaches someone who knows the tool. Owning performance through deployment does not stop at the edge of our crew list.

DataCan systems place twelve gauges on a single line, which means one cable, one wellhead penetration, and one exit for a full string of measurement points. On the well pictured, we installed twelve piezo-resistive pressure gauges on a single line, cemented behind casing. Fewer penetrations means fewer leak paths and lower risk to well integrity.

Gas lift monitoring. Offset well fracture diagnostics. Real-time DFITs. Initial build-up data. Reservoir connectivity. Skin, permeability, and drawdown over time. SAGD and multi-zone completions. Carbon storage wells.

Yes. Our dual hydraulic spoolers run capillary line and tubing encapsulated cable on the same trip, which is the most common combination we install. Gas lift wells need both, a gauge to see what the well is doing and a cap line to inject your corrosion inhibitor. Most operators pay to mobilize twice for that. We do it once. One spooler, one trailer, one crew, one trip up the derrick. Less equipment on location, fewer trucks on the road, and fewer people working near a moving cable.

Yes. Fiber and a permanent gauge answer different questions and the strongest completions run both. Fiber gives you distributed measurement across the whole wellbore, temperature and acoustics along the length of it, and a gauge gives you a discrete, calibrated pressure point you can trust for years. One tells you where. The other tells you exactly what, and holds its calibration long after the frac crew has moved on. We install both in the same cable, on the same job.
